Your strategic ally
Rebecca Jantz Johnson
How are you pursuing the influence you want to be known for? … with your brand? … your story? … your leadership? If you’re developing untapped potential or balancing work-life priorities, and you need an experienced ally in the trenches with you, let's connect.
I work with leaders and creative professionals who want to give their values a stronger voice through ...
Strategic Communications — Engage an experienced ally to advance key messages, special initiatives, or organizational growth.
Writing & Brand Storytelling — Collaborate with an experienced wordsmith and brand thinker to bring your next book or big idea to life.
Work-Life & Leadership Coaching — Unlock your core motivations and values to discover the sweet spot of purpose, productivity, and fulfillment.
... to build purpose-driven results and work-life influence.
Over three decades serving more than 70 organizations, Rebecca has been helping leaders and changemakers give their values a stronger voice. In 2015, she put a name to what she's been creating throughout her career: Story Solutions.
Her professional backstory begins with serving in donor development for two great Windy City institutions: the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lincoln Park Zoo. She helped community leaders craft their clout into messages that called for action and support.
Meanwhile, she landed a contract with Word Publishing (now W Publishing Group under Thomas Nelson) for a collection of readers’ theater scripts. This marked her first milestone as an independent writer. Although she fulfilled two additional commissioned publishing contracts, she prefers helping others find words for their stories.
Her next move pointed west to Denver. Rebecca established and directed the communications team and eventually became an executive leader at Cherry Hills Community Church.
Then, as an agency vice president at Cahoots Communications, she helped build dozens of nonprofit brands — notably as a magazine and anthology editor, working with publishers such as David C Cook, Harvard Business, InterVarsity Press, Waterbrook & Multnomah, and Zondervan to connect authors with readers.
Rebecca went on to join the leadership cabinet at Valor Christian High School, where she aligned and strengthened its branding, marketing, admissions, communications, and key community programs.
Today, through Story Solutions, she continues to serve organizations as a writer, brand thinker, and source for executive counsel. She is the author of The Values Deck, a set of 72 conversation cards for teams and families. She is also a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) and a certified facilitator of the MCORE—Motivational Core assessment that uses personal stories to develop self-awareness in leadership and teamwork.
